Exploring different styles of music keeps Perpetual Motion’s compositions fresh and exciting. For guitarist Tom Carleno and violinist Josie Quick, everything is an inspiration. They jump from bossa nova to blues, surf to swing. Everything ties together with the mastery of their instruments.

Perpetual Motion burst on the scene in 2014 with the release Perfect Imperfection. The disc won the Zone Music Reporter Best Instrumental-Acoustic award. Since then the duo has received many citations, including Best Jazz in the 2020 Peace Song awards.

This will be the first concert since an accident caused a career-threatening injury. In the summer of 2021, Josie shattered her left elbow. Determined to perform again, this special evening will be a celebration!

“From the moment the lights come upon them, they are engaged with their audience, sweeping them along on a quick trip around the world. It’s beautiful to see a whole room of vastly different people moving together, being carried, up and away by Perpetual Motion’s lively melodies and expert musicianship. -Hanna Ackerman, Swallow Hill Concert Director
