A note from Tamir:
French music has always inspired me, with its shades of emotion, nuance and color. From Ravel to Debussy to Faure, and even Chopin’s visits to France. At the turn of the 20th Century, the French impressionism movement in art found its parallel in the work of Debussy and Ravel. Before them, Gabriel Faure wrote music of great nuance, and the French salons had discovered Chopin’s charm. Chansons sung by Edyth Piaf brought out a special kind of musical longing. I will celebrate these and more on June 27.
