Ben Markley – Piano, Matt Smiley – Bass, Alejandro Castaño – Drums

Nocturne welcomes the Ben Markley Trio to the stage as they celebrate the works of the great Black American jazz composers (Sonny Clark, Tad Dameron, Bud Powell, and many more).

Ben is an accomplished pianist, band leader and composer/arranger, active throughout the Rocky Mountain front range and has performed with Brian Lynch, Greg Osby, Eddie Henderson, Terell Stafford, George Garzone, Bobby Shew and John Fedchock and many others. Markley’s latest big band recording project Clockwise – The Music of Cedar Walton (OA2 records) earned a coveted four-star review by Downbeat Magazine in Spring of 2017.  Markley is three-time Nocturne artist in residency alum and a professor of music at the University of Wyoming (where he directs a number of jazz ensembles and teaches applied jazz piano) and directs the UW Jazz Festival.

Music fees are included with all “Dinner and a Show” packages.

For walk-in guests, an artist fee of $19 per guest (per set) applies to this show.
