On Christmas Eve eve at 10 pm the Thursday night Jazz Odyssey host Dele has curated a set full of soulful and funky renditions of Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza songs, holiday-inspired Hip-Hop, and R&B originals, and wintry chill-hop beats.
On Christmas Eve beginning at 4 pm, Arturo Gómez will sub for Rodney Franks and present the magical music of Christmas in all of its splendid varieties: classic songs from the past and present, big bands, trios, vocals, and a touch of Latin jazz. During the final hour beginning at 7 pm, Arturo will share his annual Santa’s bag of exclusive obscure songs ending with Louis Armstrong’s reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, Pops final recording!
We have a great holiday lineup for you on that gentle morning after Christmas Day, Sunday, December 26 beginning at 8 am you can catch a ride on the Gospel Train! Your conductor Deborah Walker brings you joy, love, peace, and happiness with great holiday gospel music by all your favorite artists.
Then at 9 am, Canción Mexicana presents “La Celebración Navideña en Las Americas.” Host Yolanda Ortega brings a hemispheric flair to the holidays, with four hours of music and fun, including music and stories from Mexico and around Central and South America, which celebrates Navidad through January 6.
Pocho Joe follows at 1 pm for a La Raza Rocks’ New Year’s show. A few end-of-the-year musical favorites come from The Iguanas and Los Lobos, plus a salute to the “good luck” dish, Bacalao Con Pan. Let’s say “chale” to 2021 and orale! to 2022 La Raza Rocks style!
