Jazz Goes to the Movies Week 2

Join Doug Crane on Wednesday evening April 14, at 8 pm for week 2 of “Jazz Goes to the Movies” on the Night Beat.

It’s all about the melody this week as Doug turns his attention to Oscar-winning, Oscar-nominated, and should have been Oscar-nominated songs.

As you’ll hear, often it’s the songs featured in a movie that endure long after the film is forgotten.  As examples, “Secret Love” was featured in “Calamity Jane”,  “Mona Lisa” in Captain Carey, USA” and “Blazing Saddles” in “Blazing Saddles”.  (We tried to fool you with the last one but it was nominated for a Best Original Song Oscar)

For two hours of great movie songs with a dash of film trivia thrown in for good measure, tune in Wednesday at 8 pm.
