The sounds and styles of vocalist/composer Jocelyn Medina cross cultures, creeds and continents. A veteran of the New York jazz scene, she is fast becoming a strong, new element of the Denver/Boulder music community. Jocelyn developed her unique blend of jazz, neo-soul, and world music over the course of two decades of studying, performing, recording, and touring in and around the NYC area as well as abroad in Ghana, India, Spain, and Brazil.

The Muse Performance Space presents the Jocelyn Medina Quartet on Friday, April 7 at 7 pm

Since moving to Colorado in 2021, she has been collaborating with great local musicians including Bill Kopper, Bill McCrossen, and Dru Heller, who will join her for a special performance at the Muse of repertoire soon to be recorded on her new Brazilian Jazz Project album, sponsored by Colorado Pathways to Jazz. Listeners can anticipate an eclectic mix of jazz, Brazilian and Brazilian-inspired music, combined with a celebration of life, following Jocelyn’s recent birthday. It promises to be a true musical party!
