Julie Balistreri, Balistreri Vineyards

Celebrating Women’s History Month…

Julie Balistreri, a Colorado native, mother of four, and co-owner of Balistreri Vineyards, comes from a background in agriculture. Julie has been involved in the family business since 1985. She helped transition the former cut flower operation into a winery in 1998, producing traditionally handcrafted natural wines. In 2012 she played an integral part in the expansion of the winery that included a new tasting room with full lunch service, and a new event center for hosting a multitude of events from weddings and corporate events to fundraisers.  Julie oversees all aspects of the business including winemaking with her father, as well as marketing, public relations, and day-to-day operations. Balistreri Wines have been well recognized and awarded numerous medals at international wine competitions.

Julie has served on both the Colorado Wine Industry Development Board and the Rocky Mountain Association of Vintners and Viticulturists Board, striving to promote and expose Colorado Wine and where it comes from, not only to Colorado but national and international consumers. In addition to sharing Balistreri’s natural award-winning wines with consumers, Julie collaborates with several organizations, hosting special events that give back to Colorado’s local communities.

A few of the organizations that Balistreri supports include, Children’s Hospital of Colorado with a Balistreri Children’s Grape Stomping, producing Little Feet Merlot, fundraising galas for CASA of Adams and Broomfield Counties, and a Live at the Vineyard signature event for KUVO radio, supporting local and national artists through public radio.
