XEN: WEDNESDAY, JULY 2ND AT 10:00 PM

We here at KUVO haven’t had pianist A.J. Salas in the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio since he was a teenaged wunderkind with blazing mad Bebop and Blues chops.  A few years later and A.J. is deep in an electronic Jazz and Soul Bag.  He and drummer / bassist Cory Baker are Xen masters of funky heavy beats and hi tech keyboard wizardry.  Wednesday Jazz Odyssey host Venus Cruz thinks you’ll get into them!

A.J. Salas – keyboards & electronics; Cory Baker – drums.

THURSDAY, JULY 31ST @ 6:00 PM: THE SPICY PICKLES WITH SPECIAL GUESTS

The swingin’ neo-traditional dance band Joe Smith and the Spicy Pickles are promoting the first annual Denver Vintage Jazz Festival and flying in top acts and soloists from around the country, including a few who will play this on-air radio session!

Joe Smith – trumpet & vocals, Prescott Blackler – trombone; Elijah Samuels – tenor sax & clarinet; Solomon Douglas – piano; Michael Faltesek – guitar; Paul Lines – drums.

Plus, we’ll keep you in know should anyone else slide in under the wire!  Members of the KUVO Studio Club are invited to every live broadcast from the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio.  If you’re already a member reserve your seat for these July sessions with Arvida Rascon at 303-466-7631 or arvida@kuvo.org.

Thanks to the following sponsors for making these live broadcasts possible: The Onofrio Piano Company, Drum City Guitar Land, and Denver Piano Tuning
