Latino outdoors was birthed by a blog started 10 years ago by José González, the founder of Latino Outdoors. Three big questions started this movement:

Where are the top Latino-serving organizations?

What are the top conservation organizations?

Is there any overlap between the two?

Since then, Latino Outdoors has been working toward creating a world where all Latino communities enjoy nature as a safe, inclusive, and welcoming place. Cassie Castillo, Development Associate at Latino Outdoors, joined The Morning Set to talk about the work that the organization is doing in its over 33 chapters across the U.S. as well as their touring micro art show coming to Denver July 7th. Crecemos Outdoors: An Art Show Celebrating 10 Años of Latino Outdoors spotlights commissioned art pieces by Latinx artists and showcases archival images of the many adventures had by the Latino Outdoors community. I spoke with Cassie on Live & Local to find out more.
