Denver’s legendary jazz piano player, bandleader, and former Denver Public School music educator Neil Bridge will be performing live with his group in the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio October 3 from 1 to 2 PM MT. 

Neil will be joined by his wife, jazz vocalist and song stylist Karen Lee, Ken Walker (bass), Larry Thompson (drums), Papiray Pacheco (congas), Bob Rebholz (sax and flute), Greg Gisbert (trumpet and flugelhorn), and Darren Kramer (trombone).

In 1978, Bridge formed the first citywide high school jazz combo, recognized by Downbeat as the best high school jazz combo in the country.

Bridge received The Denver 5 Points Jazz Festival 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award for his significant contributions to the development and Appreciation of Jazz in the Historic Five Points Neighborhood and beyond. 

A classic jazz musician, Neil has accompanied Mel Torme, Anita O’Day, Nancy Wilson, Dakota Staton, Johnny Smith, The Mills Brothers, Clark Terry, Sonny Stitt, and many more.

Bridge has composed more than 200 musical arrangements for Neil Bridge 7+ With Karen Lee and ElPuente Grande Con Siete.
