Clark knew she wanted to be a musician from the first time she picked up a stick and rapped out beats on her mom’s pantry door. Once the drums were set up in the living room, she never looked back.

Today, Clark is one of the most respected young jazz musicians and composers and has created and performed on American and international stages alike.

Her first album, Introducing Colleen Clark, was produced by Gordon Stout, a member of Percussive Arts Society’s prestigious Hall of Fame. The album was engineered by ten-time Grammy Award nominee and winner, Brian Dozoretz.

Clark has had the privilege of playing on some of New York’s most celebrated stages including: Sounds of Brazil, DROM, Smoke Jazz Club, 92Y, The Iridium, Smalls Jazz Club, The Cutting Room, Rockwood Music Hall and Birdland Jazz Club. She has also appeared live at the Jazz Educator’s Network Conference with headliner, Bria Skonberg featuring Wycliffe Gordon.

In addition to her musical accomplishments, Clark has served on the faculty at Ithaca College, conducting Percussion Ensemble and teaching a full private studio. She believes music changes lives and currently teaches for the New York Pops Education Program, where she proudly performs jazz master-classes for children in the Bronx.

Clark is an alumni of SUNY Purchase where she received her master’s degree in Jazz Performance and studied with John Riley.
