The annual Longmont Jazz Festival features FREE local jazz entertainment at Roosevelt Park pavilion (700 Longs Peak Ave.). With a variety of styles, there’s something for everyone!

Music will begin at 11 AM and end at 6:45 PM. Bring your own chair, food and drink will be available for purchase.

Schedule: 

11:00-11:45 AM - Longmont Jazz All Stars: Under the direction of Bill Wilkinson, this band is made up of the top jazz students from Longmont area high schools.  

11:45 AM -12:30 PM - Bob Montgomery Clinic with the Longmont Jazz All Stars: Bob Montgomery is an internationally recognized performing artist and educator. He will work with the All Stars in a clinic that will be informative and interesting to both musicians and non-musicians.

12:45-1:45 PM - Dana Landry 7 on 7: Featuring melodic and contagious music, this group’s debut release, Back When It Was Fun, reached the Top 50 of the national Jazz Week Chart. The line-up includes Clay Jenkins (trumpet), Don Aliquo (saxophone), Paul McKee (trombone), Dana Landry (piano), Steve Kovalcheck (guitar), Erik Applegate (bass), and Chris Smith (drums).  

2:00-3:00 PM - MHQ Sextet: Playing jazz standards and original music in unique arrangements, this band showcases the improvisation skills of 6 world-class musicians including Bob Montgomery, Al Hermann and Josh Quinlan.

3:15-4:15 PM - The Vibe Tribe: Featuring the unique sound of the vibraphone, the Vibe Tribe plays Dixieland and swing with a twist. Get ready for toe-tappin’, finger snappin’ jazz reminiscent of Louis Armstrong and the 1920s jazz age.  

4:30-5:30 PM - Brad Goode Quintet: You’ll hear jazz fusion music that combines world beats, familiar melodies, and exotic experimental harmonies. Goode’s virtuosic trumpet style is unique and original. His band features West African drummer Paa Kow, playing on tribal drums carved from trees in his village in Ghana.  

5:45-6:45 PM - Ginga: Ginga has been dazzling audiences with the captivating rhythms and energy of traditional Brazilian music for over a decade. Cultivated in Boulder and comprised of some of the best jazz, classical, and salsa musicians on the Front Range, Ginga is THE powerhouse Brazilian band in Colorado.
