Premieres for the week of November 23, include:

Denver Brass has a brand new entry into their discography, “Fascinating Brass” is a collection of 13 swingin’ songs guaranteed to move and sway even the most stoic listener. Under the direction of conductor Warren Deck this session was recorded live at the Newman Center in February of this year just before the pandemic forced the closure of DU.

The bassist and composer David Friesen returns with his new one, “Testimony”, featuring both his quartet on their own and also accompanied by the National Academic Symphonic Band of Ukraine. All tracks were recorded in the Ukraine during David’s 2018 tour of Eastern Europe.

The multi-talented reed man Dayna Stephens leads his quartet recorded live at the Village Vanguard, one of jazz’s most revered venues. “Right Now!” has Dayna playing several saxes with his formidable trio, Aaron Parks, Ben Street and Greg Hutchinson in 2-disc album featuring some provocative jazz with a slight edge.

Every Monday beginning at Noon, I debut the latest arrivals to KUVO Jazz, often ahead of their regularly scheduled release date. In addition to the music, I’ll provide a few tidbits about the artist in particular if it’s an new or up and coming artist.
