After it’s annual one month hiatus, New Music Monday segment returns to Lunchtime at the Oasis chock full of brand new, swingin’ music in a variety of styles. The following are just some of the highlights of 2015’s initial new arrivals debuts.

The outstanding cellist Akua Dixon is back with a self-titled album featuring various configurations of all string ensembles, refreshingly innovative. Ms. Dixon arranged, produced and releases her new one on her very own Akua Music label.

The versatile vocalist, a friend of KUVO,  Allan Harris’ latest effort is a showcase for his diversity, on Black Bar Jukebox Allan uses his melodious timbre to perfection covering standards, pop songs and his own original material. Learn more here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8R_NpDsgA_o

We will also share new ones by trumpeter Marcus Printup,  Lost, a quintet outing for Steeplechase. His label mate, the gifted pianist-composer, Stanley Cowell  also begins 2015 with a new recording, Are You Real?, a trio session. UK singer-songwriter and pianist Jamie Cullum is back with Interlude on the Island label featuring his typical mix of original and cover songs that includes a duo with guest Gregory Porter. And if this wasn’t enough, we have another 2 or 3 more to add to the mix to make this a most auspicious start to the New Music Monday  2015 season.
