KUVO has a new show on the weekend, “Super Sonido Saturday,” heard on Saturday night at 11 pm. The show explores the blending of traditional sounds such as cumbia, champeta and Andean Folklorico with everything from modern technology and digital sounds to punk, Chicano Soul and even the occasional pop and reggaeton.

The host is a Colorado native who goes by the handle of “La Molly,” who asks the question, “How can we both hold tight to our traditions and be present in modern society? This is music that mirrors the identity search of many in the Latinx community.” It’s a musical identity quest perfect for Saturday night dancing or chilling.

When her head isn’t buried in headphones you can find La Molly painting, drinking coffee and reading a book or at the park playing hide and seek with her son Joaquin.
