No Boys Allowed on Jazz with Allen Scott

In honor of Women’s History Month and this significantly special period of time—Jazz with Allen Scott will present a program of all-female led jazz recordings called “No Boys Allowed.”

Women in Jazz have historically been dominated by vocalists with very few female instrumentalists playing a role in the story of jazz music. Contemporary trends are changing that disparity and during the next edition of Saturday Afternoon Jazz we add to that trend and feature not only the female vocalists, but as many women instrumentalists as time will allow.

Host Allen invites you to tune in on Saturday, March 27, from 2 to 4 pm and share the experience of hearing the “ladies only” from the International Sweethearts of Rhythm to the Maria Schneider Orchestra and more.
