On the final Sunday of March, KUVO’s archive spotlight program “On Stage” shines on a few female vocalists that have graced the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio.

A few examples: Wendy Fopeano is a Midwestern girl with a musical ear that spans the globe. Her influences come from Brazil, Cuba and India, and her audiences include school children through The Harmony Project and jazz clubs all over town. Denver’s Julie Monley has shared her classically-trained jazz vocals around the world, including London, Paris and European Jazz festivals, not to mention the KUVO studio. Teresa Carroll also calls Denver home, with training in Harlem and collaborations with Philly Joe Jones, Tommy Turrentine, Fred Wesley and others.

“On Stage” features these and other artists in local sessions, rebroadcast as they were performed live on the radio. “On Stage” is heard Sunday afternoons at 4:00 p.m. “On Stage,” a KUVO exclusive!
