This Christmas Eve Sunday, December 24, at 4 p.m., KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” features wordsmith – crooner – tunesmith Bob Dorough!

Dorough (who just turned 94 on December 12) has been visiting KUVO since the 90s, and we’ve been privileged to capture his wry wit in a variety of settings.  In 2006, he played “Blue Xmas (To Whom It May Concern)” and other select gems, including “I’m Hip” and “Yardbird Suite” sitting at the piano all by himself.  But we’ve also got a recording of Dorough’s performance in 1998 in a trio with Ken Walker (bass) and Todd Reid (drums).  He must have liked the session because they reassembled in 2005 with Dave Corbus on guitar.

Hear highlights from these Bob Dorough sessions as they were produced LIVE in KUVO’s Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio.  That’s this Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m.  “On Stage,” a KUVO exclusive!
