On Stage: United States Air Force Airmen of Note with Peter Erskine | July 1

This Sunday, July 1, at 4pm, KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” features the United States Air Force Airmen of Note with featured drummer Peter Erskine, recorded in 2017 at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall in Alexandria, Va.

Voted “Best Drummer of the Year” ten times by Modern Drummer Magazine, Peter Erskine stays busy.  He’s been a part of Weather Report and Steps Ahead. He’s been heard on film scores and as a soloist with the world’s great orchestras. He’s also an author and an educator at the University of Southern California as Professor of Practice and Director of Drum Set Studies. The U.S. Air Force Airmen of Note carry on the tradition of Major Glenn Miller’s Army Air Force dance bands from the 1940s. Its Jazz Heritage Series, now available on radio, has hosted a who’s who of superior jazz talent since 1990.
