On Stage: Veronica Swift with Emmet Cohen Trio at Vail Jazz Festival

This Sunday, August 26, at 4 p.m., KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” presents some of the younger voices of jazz, singer Veronica Swift with the Emmet Cohen Trio, captured earlier this summer at the Vail Jazz Festival.

At the age of 23, vocalist Veronica Swift has a measure of experience already. Her first CD came out when she was just 9.  She performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center at age 11. Her repertoire includes the Great American Songbook, bebop, and vocalese. Her accompanists on a recent summer evening in Vail were the Emmet Cohen Trio. Cohen’s recent releases are establishing him as a fresh interpreter of the jazz canon. These musicians could be “Exhibit A” in the case for a bright jazz future!
