Percussion master and leader of the preeminent Latin Jazz ensemble of the US, Poncho Sanchez will be the in-studio guest of Erik Troe during Jazz with Erik Troe tomorrow, Friday, September 15 at 1:30pm. Tune in!

Poncho is a Grammy® winning veteran conguero, timbalero and vocalist with over 35 recordings as a leader and dozens more as a sideman. Originally form Laredo, Texas, Poncho was raised in Norwalk, CA, a Los Angeles suburb. His influences are numerous, but among the more prominent figures that inform his music are two of the primary architects of Latin jazz – conga drummer and composer Chano Pozo and trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie.

Poncho is stopping in Denver on his way to Jazz on 2nd Ave in Niwot where he will take the stage with his Latin Jazz Band on Saturday, September 16 at 8pm. See you there!
