Denver artist Madeleine Dodge was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma and moved to Denver, in 1959. After graduating with her BFA from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1968, she lived in New York City for three years painting and teaching until returning to Denver in 1973 to practice as a strong presence in the Denver artistic community. Her work is included in many collections, both private and public, in the United States and abroad and is currently associated with SparkGallery in Denver, Colorado.

Dodge explores the visual experience in a spirit of experimentation and an emphasis on materials and process, revealing the extraordinary in the ordinary details of everyday life. While primarily an abstract painter, she frequently engages with other disciplines using technology, natural processes, printmaking and sculptural means to create surprising, integrative works which transcend divisions and definitions.
