R&B Jukebox Special: Atlantic Records Story | Nov 25
This week’s R&B Jukebox show will feature music from the iconic record label, Atlantic Records! Founded in 1947 by Ahmet Ertegun, Atlantic Records quickly became one of America’s top R&B labels, and produced some of the great music from the Golden Age of Rhythm & Blues. The Atlantic Records show will feature music from the label’s first 20 years, and include artists such as: Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Ben E. King, Solomon Burke, Ruth Brown, Otis Redding, The Coasters, Wilson Pickett, and a host of others! We’ll talk a bit about the history of Atlantic and the artists, but most importantly, we will play some great classic R&B that helped change the landscape of popular music in America, and around the world. Your host Ricky Moseley drops the needle this Saturday, November 25 at 6pm!
