On Friday March 30th at 5:30pm Sister Cities International will celebrate a 70- year collaboration between Denver, Colorado and Brest, France at Renegade Brewing Company where Renegade, and Brasserie du Baril Brewery of Brest, France will release a commemorative beer to celebrate the two cities partnership.

Denver and Brest’s relationship dates back to 1948 when a war time bride came back from France and spoke about the conditions in Brest, and Denver area school children collected enough pennies and nickels to help rebuild the hospital in Brest. Since then, Denver and Brest have collaborated in both a student and cultural exchange.

Beth Hendrix, Executive Director of the Denver branch of Sister Cities International, stopped by the KUVO studios to talk about the Denver-Brest Beer Collaboration that will be happening. She started the conversation by giving a little introduction about who Sister Cities Internationals is, how the relationship between Brest and Denver came about, the Beer Collaboration and more.Interview with Beth Hendrix and Mindi McNeil
