KUVO High School / Collegiate Series welcomes the Jazz Arts Messengers and the Jazz89 Yardbirds to the Phyllis A. Greer Performance Studio on Tuesday, January 15 at 7 pm for the first student performance of 2019. The Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts gives young musicians from across the Front Range transformative musical experiences under the mentorship of the region’s most sought-after professional jazz musicians. These two student small groups will play a variety of styles of both classic jazz and original compositions, with a focus on improvisation. CCJA groups immerse themselves in the history of the music in order to learn the jazz language and are then encouraged to use that language to create their own artistic expression. Their musicianship is inspiring!
