Chick Corea, a 22-time Grammy winner, and NEA Jazz Master formed the Akoustic band with Weckl and Patitucci 30 years ago, and they’ve been redefining the music scene together ever since, as a trio and as the rhythmic backbone of Corea’s Elektric Band. And yet an appearance from the crowd-favorite Akoustic Band is still a rare experience for jazz fans. The trio’s 2018 tour will be its first in more than 20 years.
