For this weeks Eats and Beats, I headed over to The Marigold at 2721 Welton St for a conversation over a tasting. I had been there once before during The Five Points Jazz Festival – their botanical bar hosted some of the bands both in the main bar and atop their rooftop overlooking Five Points. Local art covers the walls, an assortment of greenery decorates the interior, and a variety of craft gin cocktails makes up their menu

This time, a festive spirit was in the air as local artisans and artists were setting up their booths. Once a month, they hold a Juniper Jubilee – a market showcasing local arts and goods. I knew I wasn’t going to be getting out with out a little holiday shopping (and maybe something for myself too 😉)

Spencer Foreman and Sudy Kudva, co-partners of Marigold, greeted me at the bar. Their friend and musician Brother joined us, excited to share more about their exciting new jazz event happening Wednesday nights. Over a tasting of their best-seller cocktails, we chatted about plants, art, community, music, and cocktails. Above was our conversation that night.

Black Lotus and The Marigold presents Welton Street Worldwide: Future Jazz|World|Afro|Soul every Wednesday night at 8 PM – 2 AM at The Marigold in Five Points. For more information on community events and to see their cocktail list, you can visit their website!
