His book “Queen City: A Brief History and Illustrated Architecture New and Old of Denver, Colorado” is nominated for a Colorado Book Award. Tuesday, 5/10 — 7 and 9 AM hours — Behind the Mic: Host Steve Chavis speaks with Puerto Rican-born American actress, dancer, singer, and EGOT winner; Rita MorenoNewman Center Presents “A Conversation with Rita Moreno” takes place on May 12 in the Gates Concert Hall, and Denver Film and Women+Film will honor Rita Moreno with the Barbara Bridges Inspiration Award on May 13 at the Denver Art Museum. Wednesday, 5/11 — the 8 AM hour — Eats & Beats: The Morning Set Producer Aaliah Hartley speaks with local foodie adventurers, Raina & Khalil of @Kravingdenver to get their “Best Of” restaurant choices!

 

Thursday, 5/12 — 7 and 9 AM hours — RMPBS Colorado Voices: Cuentos de Colorado.  We’ll hear voices and poems from the poets of Colorado.

Friday, 5/13 – 7 and 9 AM hours — Funky Features: We’re talking with the director of The Spirituals Project at the Lamont School of Music, University of Denver, M. Roger Holland, II, who will be leading the event “Journey to Freedom, Building Community Through Song” at the Newman Center on May 14.

 

Also, Aisha Ahmad-Post, Executive Director of the Robert and Judi Newman Center for the Performing Arts, will be LIVE in studio to announce the Newman Center Presents 2022-2023 Season!
