The Nightside Celebrates Kevin Mahogany
The Nightside Celebrates a friend of The Oasis and a great singer on his birthday on July 30.
We lost him in December 2017 but his big baritone lives on.
“Kev” will be the only vocalist this week on the Nightside.
His mastery of interpretation renders any song he sings into the poetic and as such draws our ears to his tonal storytelling.
He appeared with Dianne Reeves at our signature fundraiser and always was quick with a joke and a smile and a hearty husky laugh.
He was proud of his Kansas City roots and starred in Robert Altman’s movie of the same name.
We haven’t forgotten. Happy Birthday, Kev.
