A tribute to the late Bob Koester, founder of Delmark Records and the Jazz & Blues Record Mart of Chicago.

The late Bob Koester was the founder of both Delmark Records and the legendary Jazz & Blues Record Mart of Chicago. Mr. Koester passed away on May 12 at the age of 88.

Host Arturo Gómez invites you to join him on Tuesday, June 8, at 6 pm as he plays music from the Delmark label and shares some anecdotes about Bob Koester, his recordings, and his record shop.

Arturo will also share 2 segments from his interview with Chicago’s native son, the multi-instrumentalist and educator, Brad Goode who grew up visiting the Record Mart and eventually became a Delmark recording artist.

“I will try to encapsulate the amazing contributions to Chicago jazz and beyond in the storied life of Bob Koester whose career spanned over 60 years!” —Arturo Gómez
