Vinyl Vault: “A Classy Pair”

This week’s Vinyl Vault feature is “A Classy Pair,” namely Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie. This 1979 recording was released on Pablo Records in 1982 and features Ella in fine form in front of the Basie Band for a swingin’ session. The program features many standards such as “Just Sittin’ and a Rockin’,” “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” “Honeysuckle Rose” and more. Benny Carter provided the arrangements for the album.
