This week on the Vinyl Vault we’ll hear some world music from the band Do’a. The Vault will feature tunes from Do’a’s first and third albums, 1978’s “Light Upon Light” and 1981’s “Ancient Future” both on the Vermont label “Philo.”

Do’a was the brainchild of guitarist Randy Armstrong and flute player Ken LaRoche although their instrumentation goes far beyond those two instruments to include sitar, tabla, recorder, African cowbells, Cameroonian shakers, Mandile wood drums, kalimba, Indian bansri flute, roto-toms, Japanese biwa, Tibetan ting-shaw and many more.

Check out the Vinyl Vault, Tuesday nights during The Night Beat with host Geoff Anderson at 8:30 pm on KUVO/KVJZ and kuvo.org.
