The Dixie Dregs are back together and touring again. The band’s heyday was in the late 70s and early 80s when they honed a unique jazz-rock sound with a little bit of country and classical and a dose of humor thrown in. The band was known for its pyrotechnic live shows and virtuosic musicianship. The current tour, with the original line-up lands in Boulder this weekend for shows this Friday and Saturday nights. And, because the Vinyl Vault sports several Dixie Dregs albums, we’ll hear from some of them this Tuesday. Included will be tracks from their first major label album, Free Fall from 1977, their second album, What If, from 1978 and their fourth album, Dregs of the Earth from 1980. Join Geoff Anderson on the Vinyl Vault, this Tuesday, April 10 at 8:30 on KUVO Jazz.
