David Mesquitic and his trio (Dr. Seth Lewis – bass, Alejandro Castano – drums) return to the stage to play a compeling mix of original works, arrangements, and special interpretations on jazz standards ranging from the ragtime, stride, bebop, post bop, and contemporary.

David Mesquitic is a pianist, composer, and educator committed to the intergenerational transfer of the knowledge, history, and traditions of jazz. Mesquitic currently teaches at the University of Wyoming as Lecturer in Jazz Piano where he also maintains a schedule performing with his trio, adjudicating, and commissioning music throughout the globe. Mesquitic is currently earning his Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Studies at the University of Texas at Austin where he was recently awarded the 2022 Eleanor Alexander Stripling Award for Excellence in Jazz Studies. As bandleader David released his first trio album in the summer of 2019 titled “Preamble.” As an artist, David remains active performing, touring, and arranging as leader and sideman in both jazz and commercial based projects. David has had the privilege to study with luminaries Andy LaVerne, Gerald Clayton, Tamir Hendelman, Steven Feifke, and Benny Green. Mesquitic’s performance includes groups such as Postmodern Jukebox, Benny Benack III, Aubrey Logan, Steven Feifke, Carmen Bradford, Clark Sommers, Dick Oats, Andre Hayward, James Morrison, and Christian Wiggs.
