interview with Bart Watson

On the Front Range of Colorado, (aka the “Napa Valley of Beer”), the craft brewers industry gathers in Denver this week.

With  new brew pubs opening almost weekly in many neighborhoods around town, we asked the economist for the Brewers Association (www.brewersassociation.org) Bart Watson for an early “economic state of the industry.”
While Watson says sales for craft brews are way up (18% by volume in 2013),  “Things like quality, capacity are going to be worries for the industry going forward. We have to keep up the work that we’ve put in the last 10 years, growing the segment by double digits.  And if we keep doing that, there are going to be even better times ahead for the beer lovers of America.”
