Hugh Ragin and the Messengers of Peace have developed their own unique sound. Hugh Ragin, best known for capably filling the problematic trumpet chair in saxophonist David Murray’s various large ensembles, possesses the well-rounded technique and abundant imagination that his predecessors in those bands did not. A harmonically daring player, Ragin combines the clear, ringing tone of a classical trumpeter with the chops and rhythmic ingenuity of a top-notch be-bopper.

The Messengers of Peace was formed to reflect current day social and health issues facing the world. Bringing music styles Bebop, Modal, Blues, Funk and Free look to bring music taste of many styles together.
