Tuesday, December 7, 2021, is Colorado Gives Day, one of the largest one-day giving movements in our state and the country. Each December, Coloradans come together with the common goal to strengthen the community by helping to power nonprofits like KUVO JAZZ. We are eager to celebrate the annual giving movement by empowering youth musicians!
This year, we’re digging through the archives over the past decade and have put together for your listening pleasure the best musical performances of our High School-Collegiate Series, showcasing Colorado’s exceptionally talented musical youth performers.
Since 1997, KUVO JAZZ has hosted student musicians, youth performers, and school bands from the former Phyllis A. Greer Performance studio, as they jam out over the KUVO airwaves and carve out space for the lesser-known Colorado Jazz Artists.
What a difference a day makes! Support KUVO today!
We can’t wait to invite Colorado’s youth musicians back into our new digs at the Buell Public Media Center to perform in the brand new Bonfils-Stanton Performance Studio. Until that day comes, it’s crucial more than ever to support and spotlight our community of young musical performers. Tune into KUVO JAZZ 89.3 all day on Colorado Gives Day for the past decade’s youthful, musical stylings of our High School-Collegiate Series, with performances by:
2020s Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts and Monarch High School Jazz Band
2019s Boulder High School, Colorado School of Mines Jazz Ensemble, Grandview High School Jazz Ensemble, and Denver Jazz Club Youth All-Stars
2018s Lamont Jazz Orchestra
2017s CSU Jazz Ensemble, Denver School of the Arts, and East High School 13th Hour Jazz Combo
2015s Longmont High School Rhythmaires and UNC Greely
2011s Gilpin Elementary and CU Boulder’s Jazz Combo 1
