In the great tradition of black photographers who covered their cities, Denver had Mac McCloud. His entire photo archives are housed at the Denver Public Library, and a book of his images has been published. “Mac McCloud’s Five Points – Photographing Black Denver 1938-1975” (the University of New Mexico Press) presents buildings, news events, national celebrities during their visits to Denver and the joyous, everyday lives of people. KUVO spoke with social geographer and author William Wyckoff about the project.
