This Saturday, September 5, at 10 p.m., KUVO’s archive performance series “On Stage” presents one of the newer voices of jazz, singer Veronica Swift with the Emmet Cohen Trio, captured in 2018 at the Vail Jazz Festival.

At the age of 5, vocalist Veronica Swift has a measure of experience already. Her first CD came out when she was just 9.  She performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center at age 11. Her repertoire includes the Great American Songbook, bebop, and vocalese. Her accompanists on that summer evening in Vail were the Emmet Cohen Trio, her current touring and recording partners. The collaboration resulted in Swift’s acclaimed 2019 release “Confessions” (2019, Mack Avenue Records). These musicians could be “Exhibit A” in the case for a bright jazz future!

Dynamic, sultry and swinging, it’s Veronica Swift with the Emmet Cohen Trio on the next presentation of KUVO’s performance archive show “On Stage.” Saturday at 10:00 p.m., presented by Susan Gatschet. Only on KUVO Jazz.
