What does a place in Memphis with a name like “Ernestine and Hazel’s” have to do with the history of the Blues, Rhythm and Blues, Rock and Roll, and Soul Music?

To learn more, join us this Saturday for R&B Jukebox with guest host Pete Simon, who recently returned from a trip to Memphis where he heard an earful about the legendary goings-on at “Ernestine’s” through the decades.

Pete also attended the grand opening of the Blues Hall of Fame, and was (as he says) “finally” able to tour the Stax Museum of Soul Music.

“Compared to 20 years ago, Beale Street and the adjacent downtown area is on the upswing,” said Pete. “It’s a great time to check it out. The place is really hopping and the music from there always speaks for itself.”
