As we head into the home stretch of our Spring Membership campaign, today we celebrate the jazz of the West Coast! From Vancouver, British Colombia to Seattle, down to Portland, and continuing on the Pacific Coast south to San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Often overshadowed by New York City and other East Coast cities, The Pacific Coast has made enormous contributions to jazz both in shaping the sound as it did with cool jazz but also because of its amazing roster of musicians hailing from the left coast: Dave Brubeck, Dexter Gordon, Esperanza Spalding, Poncho Sanchez, Roy Ayers, and so many others.

Moreover, the West Coast is known for many great venues, the Hollywood Bowl, the Monterey Jazz Festival, Seattle’s Jazz Alley, and Yoshi’s just to name a few.
