The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis. These and many more rock and pop artists covered songs from the Golden Age of Rhythm and Blues. Join host Rolando Garcia this Saturday night for the Annual R&B Jukebox Take Cover Show.

All the original R&B tunes that were later covered by popular music groups. You’ll recognize familiar songs in their original form, but you’ll have to guess who covered them!

Can you guess who originally did that popular tune?  Well, the annual Take Cover show will give you the opportunity to play along and enjoy the richness and the contributions that classic R&B made to pop and rock music after the 60s.

Some of the original artists you’ll hear:

  • The Shirelles
  • Sam Cooke
  • Otis Redding
  • Little Richard
  • Fats Domino
  • Chuck Berry
  • And many more!

Join us for a live interview with Brian Keating, Musical Director for local band: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough (A Motown/Stax Revue), www.coloradomotown.com, dedicated to the classic instruments, arrangements and energy that keeps this timeless music alive.

We’ll play a couple of tunes from the band that are aligned with our Take Cover tribute. One tune will feature Hazel Miller on vocals!

It’s Saturday night, August 7 at 6 with host Rolando Garcia! On KUVO JAZZ!
