City Park Jazz Kicks Off this Weekend!

City Park Jazz embarks on its 38th season this summer, though it has been an institution for far longer. The tradition of concerts in this historic park started over 130 years ago. Their website states: “Photographs of City Park from the turn of last century offer scenes of ladies in fine hats and gentlemen in their Sunday best. They strolled around Ferril Lake and rested on the lawns while listening to concerts at the City Park bandstand.”

City Park Jazz produces 10 free concerts with a commitment to celebrating the diversity of our community. The 2024 season welcomes big bands, the blues, soul, Latin rhythms, and more to the City Park Pavilion. Executive Director Deb Flomberg and Music Director Andy Bercaw chatted with Steve Chavis and Abi Clark of The Morning Set about the line-up and all the need-to-know details of this summer staple:
