Tune in on Thursday, March 24 at 3:00 p.m. for a live broadcast featuring Neil Bridge and “Quintessence” with vocalist Karen Lee. This broadcast originates from KUVO’s brand-new Bonfils-Stanton Performance Studio.

The Bridges have been listener-members of KUVO for over three decades and have performed in our studios on Morrison Road, Federal Boulevard, in Five Points, and now on Arapahoe Street in downtown Denver.

Quintessence is Neil Bridge on piano, Karen Lee on vocals, Wayne Wilkinson on guitar, Ron Bland on bass, and Todd Reid on drums.

A renowned bandleader and piano master, Neil Bridge is considered a giant of Denver’s jazz scene.  Ricky Rodriguez wrote, With classic arrangements and impeccable taste, Neil and his muse Karen Lee Bridge will remind you why we love this most American of music styles.”

Wayne Wilkinson is a headliner guitarist playing high octane straight-ahead jazz and traditional classics from the Great American songbook, innovative bebop jazz, and original compositions. Some of his recent performances have included the London, Tel Aviv, and Vail Jazz Festivals, a United Kingdom Tour, and Hawaii Tour.  Formerly an adjunct professor at Colorado State University-Pueblo, Wayne is on the faculty of the Colorado Springs Conservatory.

Ron Bland has been a professional musician for over forty years, playing virtually all styles of music in every setting from concert hall to theater to the recording studio and at home on both the electric and double basses. Ron is on the music faculty at Colorado Christian University, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and the University of Colorado at Denver.

Todd Reid is the Percussion Area Coordinator at the University of Colorado-Denver teaching drumset and a number of classes in the Music & Entertainment Industry Studies program. Living in New York for a number of years, he worked with Gerry Mulligan, Dr. Billy Taylor, Bucky Pizzarelli, and he has appeared with and recorded with Jon Hendricks, Mose Allison, Freddie Cole and many others.

LIVE performances on KUVO Jazz are supported by Bonfils Stanton Foundation, Drum City Guitarland, Grace Design Pro Audio, Listen Up, Schmitt Music – Englewood, with support from KUVO’s Studio Club and Beat Collective members.
