This is Easy Bill, host of the R&B Jukebox. Believe it or not, I don’t own many records, but this  is a cherished 45 of one of my favorite songs: the Okie Dokie Stomp by the great Clarence  Gatemouth Brown.

This 45 was shipped to me directly from Houston, Texas, the home of Don Robey’s Peacock  label, who released this classic song back in 1954. It had been sitting in a jukebox in Houston  for many years, and, as you can see from its condition, had been spun probably thousands of  times.

You can hear the Okie Dokie Stomp, along with many other great tunes from the Golden Age of  Rhythm and Blues, every Saturday night at 6 pm on the R&B Jukebox, heard only on KUVO  JAZZ.

I’m Easy Bill, and this is my Record Story. Happy Record Store Day!
