The Denver South High “Rebel Jazz Band” is back in the Phyllis A. Greer Studio on Tuesday, November 12 at 7pm performing in front of KUVO’s Studio Club audience. This is an auditioned honors ensemble that performs all styles of jazz. For the past two years they have performed in the UNC Greeley Jazz Festival where they earned top scores, and in 2020 they will be traveling to Chicago to participate in the regional Essentially Ellington Festival. The band will perform several charts selected by the students including Whiplash, Alianza, Tank! From Cowboy Bebop, and Rainbow Connection, featuring two seniors sharing the flugelhorn solo, Tony Figueroa and Maria Schonewise.

Students in the jazz band have performed at Dazzle Jazz club, Space Gallery, and they have regularly held top seats in the Denver Citywide Honors Band.
