KUVO welcomes Stafford Hunter & Continuum for a LIVE broadcast performance from the Bonfils-Stanton Performance Studio, Thursday, February 9 at 7:00 p.m.

The quintet features Stafford Hunter at trombone and conch shells, with David Bernot at reeds, Eric Gunnison at piano, Seth Lewis at bass, and Dru Heller at drums. They’re planning a set of Hunter originals and some classic covers.

Stafford Hunter, a multi-Grammy nominated musician, was a member of the Duke Ellington Orchestra for 21 years. With three decades on the New York scene, he’s accumulated performance and recording credits with the who’s who of jazz and popular music, including Toshiko Akiyoshi, Dionne Warwick, Lenny Kravitz, Oliver Lake, Orrin Evans’ Captain Black Big Band, Clark Terry, McCoy Tyner, Roy Hargrove, Amy Winehouse, Steve Turre & Sanctified Shells, and many others. He has five CDs under his own name.

Fun facts: Stafford modeled for L’Uomo Vogue (Italian Vogue magazine for men) and appeared in a Diet Coke commercial with Elton John!
