KUVO/KVJZ adds two new HD broadcast channels and now provides 72 hours of programming every day. All of KUVO/KVJZ's main and HD channels are available online hereFor those who don't have an HD radio, these two new channels are available free to you online at www.kuvo.org and www.kvjz.org streaming 24 hours a day. This free service is also available on HD Radio components. FAQs about HD Radio are available here. The selection of these two unique formats was made after a comprehensive assessment. KUVO/KVJZ wanted to provide public radio programming not available elsewhere in our market, and shows consistent with the station's charter of providing diversified programming to the communities it serves.

KUVO/KVJZ's HD2 CHANNEL provides our jazz listeners with Jazz with Bob Parlocha, Monday-Friday, 5am to 8am, Classical 24 from Public Radio International overnight. During the day, innovative programs heard nowhere else on Colorado's radio dial, The Dianne Rehm Show, Here and Now, On Point, Tell Me MoreBBC News Hour, World, Have Your Say and more!

Bob Parlocha's rich, elegant voice is familiar to jazz audiences as host of the highly rated "Dinner Jazz Show" at the former KJAZ. Bob has been part of KUVO/KVJZ's line-up for a number of years. Now on HD2 channel, enjoy jazz Monday - Friday, 5am to 8am. In addition, you can tune in on Sunday's for a full day of Bob!

The Diane Rehm Show Monday-Friday, 8am to 10am on HD2

For more than 30 years, The Diane Rehm Show has offered listeners thoughtful and lively conversations on an array of topics with many of the most distinguished people of our times. Heard no where else in Colorado, The Diane Rehm Show is available on KUVO/KVJZ's HD2 at 8am, Monday-Friday!

Julie Amacher's desire to introduce others to great music is what led her to radio. She began her professional broadcast career at a station in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Julie went from rock 'n' roll to the Rocky Mountains, where she found her niche in public radio at KUNC in Greeley, Colorado.

A founding voice of Classical 24, Bob Christiansen has combined his knowledge of classical music and history with a sharp wit and a talent for foreign languages into a 38-year radio career. While studying the ramifications of the "Time of Troubles" on the Grand Duchy of Moscow, he led a secret life as the evening man on the Northern Illinois University radio station. Bob teamed with Bill Morelock in 1987 to create the nationally syndicated Bob and Bill.

Two Unique Public Radio Formats Debut Regionally

February, 2010

Denver, CO, February 24/ Public radio licensee Jazz 89 KUVO Denver and KVJZ Vail, formally announces the addition of two new High Definition (HD) program channels to its current jazz lineup, delivering a unique mix of commercial free music and news programming not currently available in the region.

KUVO HD2, with its News, Jazz & Classical format, provides jazz programming 5am to 8am Monday through Friday, a unique variety of innovative news and talk midday and classical music from Public Radio International all night.

KUVO HD3 labeled, The Other Side of KUVO, is an eclectic music mix of diverse music types including, folk, bluegrass, Celtic/World, ambient/chill, electronica, blues, a small amount of progressive country and even a little modern jazz.

For those who don’t have an HD radio, these two channels programming schedules are available on line at www.KUVO.org, streaming 24 hours a day. 

The selection of these two unique formats was made after a comprehensive assessment of what public radio programming was not available in this market, and consistent with the stations charter of providing diversified programming to the communities it serves.

KUVO 89.3 FM Denver is also heard in Vail at 88.5FM as KVJZ and in Breckenridge at 89.7FM.
